6 Quick and Simple Baby Hats

These newborn baby hat patterns were designed for the Click for Babies campaign (www.clickforbabies.org), but they can be used for any purpose. They are all quick knits and require very little worsted weight yarn.
Lacy Points
Size: Height=5 inches, Circumference=10 inches
Materials: Size 5.5 mm needles, small amount worsted weight yarn, large eye sewing needle
Gauge: 4 sts, 6 rows = 1 inch in st st
Abbreviation: CDD=Central Double Decrease
Pattern: (Mult 12 +1 st)
Rows 1 and 7 (RS): Knit
Rows 2 and all even rows: Purl
Row 3: *k7, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, rep from *, end with k1
Row 5: *k8, yo, CDD, yo, k1, rep from *, end with k1
Row 9: *k1, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, k6, rep from *, end with k1
Row11: *k2, yo, CDD, yo, k7, rep from *, end with k1
Row 12: Purl
CO 37 sts
Ribbing:
Row 1: *P1, k1, rep from *, end with p1
Row 2: *k1, p1, rep from *, end with k1
Row 3: *P1, k1, rep from *, end with p1
Body:
Work 18 rows of pattern.
Dec for Top:
Row 1 (RS): k2, k2tog, *k4, k2tog, rep from * end with k3 (31 sts)
Row 2 and all even rows: Purl
Row 3: K1, k2tog, *k3, k2tog, rep from * end with k3 (25 sts)
Row 5: k 2 tog across row to last st, k1 (13 sts)
Cut yarn, leaving a 20 inch tail. Draw yarn through sts on needle. Pull tight. Sew seam, Weave in ends

Gauge: 3 ½ sts, 4 ½ rows = 1 inch in st st
Abbreviations: 2/2 LC=slip 2 sts to cable holder, hold in front, k2, k2 from holder
2/2RC=slip s sts to cable holder, hold in back, k2, k2 form holder
Pattern: (Mult 8 + 2 sts)
Row 1 (RS): k1, *k4, 2/2 LC, rep from *, end with k1
